At 9.30pm on Sunday 27 May 2012 a road traffic collision took place on the A556 in Northwich involving two friends travelling together, but in separate vehicles.

The 19 year-old motorcyclist, Adam, was killed.

The driver of the car, also aged 19, was convicted of causing death by driving dangerously.

Adam’s mum, Yvonne Boyle, has told her story to encourage safe behaviour.

She hopes that after hearing her story new drivers will understand the risks and the far-reaching impact of a crash caused by one mistake that could easily have been avoided.

Yvonne also hopes to encourage more driving instructors to take part in the engage scheme and more young drivers to choose to learn with an engage-trained instructor.
