The latest Covid-19 lockdown has once again brought driving lessons to a halt – and naturally there are many questions about when instructors will be able to safely resume teaching learner drivers.

While this is currently unknown, the best way to stay informed is by checking the Government’s Covid-19 driver and rider trainer guidance page.

  • The page tells you all you need to know about:
  • how local restrictions and lockdowns are affecting driving lessons and motorcycle training
  • how driving tests are affected by coronavirus
  • how you should work safely during coronavirus
  • what financial support is available for businesses and the self-employed

You can also sign up for alerts which will notify when this information changes. Check out the Engage Instructor Facebook page or What’s App group for helpful updates and local grants available.

The page also provides advice about what to do if:

  • your ADI registration expires soon
  • you were issued a trainee driving instructor licence in January 2021
  • your trainee driving instructor licence expires soon
  • you’re thinking about applying for a trainee driving instructor licence
