Two-Day Course to provide ADIs with deep understanding of client-centred learning

When: 16 and 30 March, 2020. 8.50am to 5pm
Where: The Engineering College, Monks Ferry, Birkenhead, CH41 5LH.

Driving instructors across Merseyside and Cheshire are being encouraged to attend a two-day, client-centred learning (CCL) course, which takes place in March.

CCL is a term used by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to describe the educational approach they wish ADIs to use when delivering driver education.

CCL is not a single learning theory, it is based on a spectrum of approaches tailored to the client’s need.

Working in partnership with New View Consultants Ltd. (formerly eDriving Solutions), Road Safety GB developed this two-day course to help driving instructors to develop these vital CCL skills.

It is designed to provide ADIs with a deep understanding of what CCL is and how it can be applied to driver education.

The course is highly interactive to prompt group discussion and debate, and covers a number of topics including:

  • Learning theory
  • Learning styles
  • Lesson structure
  • The Goals for Driver Education (Keskinen, et al., 2010) and its application
  • Understanding how an ADI will be assessed on the DVSA Standards Check

The course takes place at The Engineering College, Monks Ferry, Birkenhead, CH41 5LH on 16 and 30 March (both days 8.50am to 5pm).

Please note – this is a two-day course, to complete the training and receive the certificate of completion, you must attend both days.
